VHSL Physical Exam Requirements and Form
A Virginia High School League (VHSL) physical form is required of all students who wish to participate in middle school athletics at Glenvar Middle School. The most recent version of the form (dated April 2025) is available at the link below.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Q: On July 1, 2025, if a student has a physical the health care professional has signed within the last 14 months, does the student-athlete need to get a new physical?
A: On July 1, 2025, a student’s most recent physical is good for 14 months from the date on which it was signed by the health care official on page 3.
Q: If the valid physical was given prior to July 1, 2025, and is on the “old” form, does the student-athlete need to get a physical using the new form?
A: No. The physical completed on the “old form" is valid for 14 months from the date the health care official signed the form was signed on page 3.
Note: If the expiration date on the form falls on a date that does not exist (September 31 or February 29, 30, or 31), the expiration date defaults to the last day of that month (September 30 or February 28).

Roanoke County Schools has adopted a few new policies related to extra-curricular activities. The purpose of these policies is to provide a safe environment for our students and fans at events. Beginning January 2, 2024:
- Only clear bags are allowed at events (exceptions made for small clutches 4.5”x 6.5”, medical supplies, and diaper bags which may be searched).
- No outside food or drinks are allowed
- All elementary and middle school age students must be accompanied by an adult at all times
- No re-entry for ticketed events (exception for events with all-day passes)
These restrictions exclude players, participants, officials and authorized individuals
Event staff, with the support of school administrators, will enforce these procedures. Those violating these procedures may be denied entry or may be asked to leave school property.
