Dear Parents and Guardians of all students at Glenvar Middle:
We hope that this letter finds that the school year is off to a great start! This letter is to inform you about some community programs that are in place to help provide snacks, clothing and other special need items to identified students. Each organization sets its own guidelines for providing to students.
The Weekend Snack program is available through donations from Fellowship Community Church for families who need some extra help with snacks for children over the weekends. If your child is in need of snacks for the weekend, fill out the form below and we will provide those for them to bring home on Friday afternoons.
Holiday Help: Glenvar Middle School staff collect donations throughout the year to provide Thanksgiving meals, Christmas meals, and Christmas gifts to families in need who are not supported by other organizations. This is solely based on donations each year and is not guaranteed. If your family would benefit from this program, please fill out the entire form below.
The Community Christmas Store: This service is by application only. For more information, please visit www.RoanokeValleyCCS.org to apply. There are flyers with information in our counseling center as well.
Please keep in mind that these programs are based on need. Your child might be a good candidate for this program if your family has financial stressors and providing weekend snacks, clothing, and holiday meals and gifts is a financial burden for your family. All information will be kept confidential, and each student is assigned a confidential number when receiving benefits from outside agencies.
If you would like for your child to participate in any of these programs, please fill out the information below by September 12, 2025. If you have more than one child, please fill out a new form per child.
